Editorial spotlight · John’s Pass and Madeira Beach
A family outfit named after John Levique, the French pirate whose ship went through the new channel after an 1848 hurricane and gave John’s Pass its name. Captained tiki boats and pontoons from two docks, and a rental counter with kayaks, paddleboards, bikes and scooters for the rest of the day.

The operation
The About page takes its name from Captain John Levique, a French pirate and turtle trader who lived around 1836 to 1873 and whose passage through a storm-cut channel gave John’s Pass its name. The company calls its people the Levique Krewe and mentions Neil and Jen among the dock regulars.
Two counters serve the operation: 13205 Gulf Blvd, Suite B at John’s Pass on the south end, and 15015 Madeira Way at the Cambria Hotel on the north. Boats run captained; everything on wheels or paddles rents by the hour or the day. VIP add-ons stock the cooler, decorate the boat or bring food aboard.
“The boats are fun, the routes are dialed, and the captains don’t just ‘drive’ — they host.”
The site refers to the “Levique Krewe” and mentions Neil and Jen; reviewers name Captains Colton, Bob, Justin and Mike.
The one to book
A seat on the thatched boat through the back bays and out toward the Gulf, captained, with the sandbar on the route when the tide allows. Manatees turn up at the dock often enough that reviewers lead with it.
The sunset version is $65 and takes dogs for $25. A private booking starts at $59 a head on the two-hour run.
