Every trip below costs $1,000 or more and is drawn live from the same catalogue as the rest of the site. There is no separate hand-picked list to go stale — when an operator changes a price or drops a date, this page changes with it.

$1,000 is roughly the top ten percent of our Florida inventory: the median trip on this site is $244. Almost everything here is private or whole-boat hire, so the figure is usually for the vessel and your whole party rather than per person. Check the operator’s own page for what a given price covers.

347 trips from 139 operators qualify. The deepest concentration is on the Gulf coast — Destin alone accounts for 39 of them, with Pensacola, Panama City and Fort Walton Beach close behind. Miami and Miami Beach add another 28, mostly yacht charters rather than fishing.

We select by price, not by ranking. A “most expensive” list surfaces the wrong things: at the extreme end this catalogue holds villa rentals, monthly RV hire and sailing certification courses, none of which are tours. Those are excluded from the site rather than filtered out here, so what is left is boats and the people who run them.

❯ Is the price per person or for the whole boat?

On this page, nearly always the whole boat. A $2,500 full-day charter is the vessel, the captain and your group — often six to twelve people — not a per-head rate. That is what makes this tier worth a look for a family or a group: split six ways, a private charter can land close to the cost of a shared trip, with none of the schedule.

❯ What is actually included at this price?

It varies by operator. Charters in this range commonly include the captain and crew, fuel, snorkel gear, and often food and drink. None of that is standardised, so read the operator’s own inclusions before you assume it. Offshore fishing charters in particular often price bait, tackle and fish cleaning separately.

❯ Why is Destin so heavily represented?

Because that is where the boats are. Destin has 39 of the 347 trips on this page, more than Miami and Miami Beach combined, and the Gulf coast as a whole — Destin, Pensacola, Panama City, Fort Walton Beach — accounts for well over a third. Deep water close to shore makes it a sport-fishing centre, and sport fishing is where the four-figure prices are.

❯ How far ahead should I book?

Further than a shared tour. There is one of each boat, and the good captains fill weekends, holidays and the summer season well in advance. If your dates are fixed, check availability early rather than close to the trip.

❯ Do you take a cut of what I pay?
